Sue Ann (Botkin) and Alexander (Sandy) Oliphant III celebrated their 50th anniversary June 9. The couple wed in 1963 in Lawton, Okla.
The couple moved to Juneau in the 1980s with their children Alexander (Zan) IV, Andrew Merriman, Alexa Sue Ann and Brant Altman. After a varied career that included building passive solar homes, Sandy turned to career inspection, while Sue went from teaching to early childhood education.
The Oliphants are retired but active in the community and have four grandchildren.
